Before you head to the career fairs this fall, here are some intentional steps you can take:
Update your resume
Make sure your resume is current and ready to share. Need help? Stop by our office to meet with a Peer Career Advisor. Check the yellow banner at the top of the page for drop-in hours.
Do your research
Explore the employers, programs, and opportunities you’re interested in ahead of time. A little research will help you identify your interests and come prepared with thoughtful questions.
Practice your intro
Be ready to introduce yourself! Practice sharing who you are, what you’re studying, and what you’re looking for. Keep it brief and conversational.
Plan your outfit
Aim for something professional and comfortable. You want to feel confident while making a great first impression. Need some inspo? See below.
Have your contact information ready
Make it easy for recruiters to connect with you after the fair. Have your preferred contact information ready and make sure your LinkedIn profile is up to date if you plan to share it.
Need to chat about your career fair strategy? Schedule an appointment with a career advisor for personalized guidance. You’ve got this! We can’t wait to see you there.
