Please describe the experiences that have made you a Career Ready Great Dane:
I’ve held two internships at the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation while balancing graduate studies which helps with time management, discipline and accountability. Through my internships, I’ve grown in a real-world setting and saw how decisions directly impact communities and sustainability efforts. Working on remediation and climate-related initiatives have strengthened my commitment to environmental responsibility and public service. As I am preparing to graduate, I feel prepared, focused and career ready. I’m confident in taking the next step in my field.
Advice for other Great Danes: Don’t be afraid to ask questions and step outside your comfort zone. Growth often happens when you take on responsibilities that feel slightly intimidating. Be proactive, build relationships with mentors, and take advantage of the resources the university offers. The effort you put in now, will shape the opportunities available to you after graduation.
