You have the chance to join our team! LLE is looking for its next Experimental Technician.
An Experimental Tech is responsible for:
- Supporting the operation of equipment and instrumentation for laser physics experiments
- Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues
- Performing preventative maintenance
- Supporting engineers in design and installation of new equipment
- Operating and maintaining complex vacuum systems
- Second shift work
- Performing radiological management activities
What’s needed to be successful in this role:
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work in a cleanroom environment
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- High degree of manual dexterity
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Strong interpersonal skills working in a team-based environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn additional software
You’re a great candidate for this role if you:
- Have availability to work second shift
- Have experience with electrical, controls, and vacuum systems
- Have experience with handling precision optical components
- Are proficient with reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical schematics
- Have technical writing experience
- Are able to troubleshoot electrical systems
- Are a critical thinker and strong in algebra
How to qualify for this role:
- Have an Associate degree and >5 yrs experience in technology or engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience in a technical field
- Have the ability to obtain a security clearance
