Syracuse Futures studies and strengthens an emerging arts & humanities infrastructure across the city of Syracuse and models ways in which universities can partner with community centers to provide historically marginalized communities with 1.) continuous, interconnected, and scaffolded enrichment programming in the arts, humanities, and civic engagement and 2.) sustained mentorship and college and career support structured by an adaptive digital portfolio system. The project is led by SU’s Engaged Humanities Network (EHN) in collaboration with a number of community-based organizations, including the Dunbar Center, Mercy Works, ArtHouse, and the South Side Communication Center. Summer interns will help facilitate summer enrichment programs and support interconnections through integrated communications and community building.
