Job Summary
Internship opportunity for a college student to learn more about the Private Placement group. Assist fixed income analysts with financial statement analysis and monitoring a portfolio of investment grade rated private fixed income securities. This role will include but not limited to the following day-to-day needs and projects:
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Compile and analyze quarterly financial statement data
- Review financial statements for compliance with contractual terms
- Assist in scenario analysis and projections for new or existing transactions
- Monitor portfolio rating changes and document reasons for changes
- Monitor portfolio holdings vs. limits and identify opportunities and risks
- Prepare reports of holdings by issuer, quality and other factors
- Participate in investor calls with the management teams of new issuers; assist with any deep dive projects and/or updates.; assist in the preparation of investment committee presentations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- College Junior working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a major in Finance (with additional coursework in accounting).
- 1-2 years of job relevant internship experience, preferably in financial services industry
- Excellent communication skills
- Analytical, detail-oriented with excellent research skills
- Ability to collaboratively solve problems using verbal and written skills
- Ability to organize work and self and execute a wide range of tasks in a logical fashion
- Good decision making and documentation skills to interact effectively with team members
