Job Summary
Nassau’s 10-week Summer 2024 Global Credit Investment Internship provides an opportunity for college students to learn more about the bank loan, high yield bond and structured credit markets while gaining valuable hands-on work experience. Interns will engage in fundamental, bottoms-up analysis to be leveraged across NGC’s three principal strategies: US CLOs, Liquid Credit and Credit Opportunities. Over the course of the internship, you’ll work with various members of the team learning about the investment due diligence process as well as our approach to trading, constructing the portfolio and valuing investments. Assist fixed income analysts & portfolio managers in financial statement analysis and monitoring for portfolio of non-investment grade rated public and private fixed income securities
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with analyzing primary and secondary credit opportunities for the CLOs and absolute credit strategies
- Review financial statements for compliance with credit agreement contractual terms and covenants
- Compile and analyze quarterly financial statement date for upload to Nassau’s internal management system
- Build forecast models in Excel to assist in scenario analysis and projections for new or existing transactions
- Stay apprised of rating agency reports and other material news on holdings; engage with Wall Street and other market counterparties
- Monitor portfolio holdings vs. limits and identify opportunities and risks
- Prepare reports of holdings by issuer, quality, and other factors
- Participate in primary deal lender calls and discussions with management
- Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Junior or Senior interested in Investment Management
- Excellent academic credentials (3.0+ CUM GPA), with a concentration in finance, economics, accounting, or related discipline
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities
- Outstanding problem solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills
- Strong written and oral communications skills
