Occupational Health Services is to assess applicants and employees ability to perform essential functions of jobs that directly impact safety.
Occupational Health Services enables MTA Headquarters, New York City Transit, MTA Bus, MetroNorth Railroad, and Long Island Rail Road to provide a safe and reliable transportation system for our customers. Occupational Health Services achieves its mission through the:
Performance of medical assessments of employees and applicants capacity to perform the essential duties of their job and informs management of these findings so that appropriate work can be assigned.
Performance of OHSA regulated workplace surveillance examinations as required by System Safety
Administration of drug and alcohol testing programs
Management of the Employee Assistance program
Maintenance and management of Medical Records
Project Responsibilities:
– Provides operational support in managing OHS medical application to support operating departments availability and increase efficiency.
– Maintenance of all interfaces that update the medical application with employee demographic, hearing and drug and alcohol information.
– Manage the implementation of new medical programs to support MTA-wide initiatives.
– Utilizes technology to improve existing and new MTA Health and Safety goals, which includes but not limited to physical ability testing, potential in house clinical testing and expanding MTAs influenza programs.
– Provides analytical support to all MTA agencies regarding surveillance programs, clinical testing, periodic medical exams and drug & alcohol testing.
– Also, builds business relationships with agency stakeholders to ensure these key programs are implements and managed.
– Filing, packing, shredding and other administrative functions such as typing.
Qualifications :
MAJORS PREFERRED:
Business Administration, Public Health, Biology, Health Science, Economics
– College student familiar with medical records retention.
– Attention to detail
– Proficient with MS Office
