Our state-of-the-art investment casting facility in La Porte, Indiana is nestled halfway between South Bend and Chicago, along the shores of Lake Michigan – our facility in La Porte, Indiana supplies jet engine components to some of the most trusted names in the Aerospace industry.
As a Weld Engineer at our growing LaPorte facility, this position will be responsible for improvements and control of weld repair/fabrication of super alloy castings as well as ensuring all welds meet Class “A” requirements.
Job responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Maintain Nadcap certification.
• Train new production welders.
• Monitor workmanship and continuous training of current welders.
• Certify new welders and recertify current welders biannually.
• Plan and execute repairs on potentially scrap castings.
• Monitor weld quality yields.
• Develop new welding techniques and equipment improvements for production applications.
• Maintain weld wire and weld cap control and inventory.
• Maintain and write work instructions.
• Customer specification and blueprint review.
• Maintain welder stamp control.
• Maintain personal welder certification.
• Methods improvement.
• Cost estimating, scrap and rework costs.
Basic Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
• Documented formal training in GTAW/TIG welding (i.e., Certificate of Completion, AS degree in Welding Technology, etc.)
• A minimum of 1 year Weld experience through education and/or hands on manufacturing environment required.
• This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee. This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant’s ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Weld Engineering from an accredited institution
• Industrial experience with GTAW/TIG welding
