The Graduate Hall Director (GHD) is a paraprofessional employee that oversees one of four distinct residential areas (Linden 1-4, Linden 5-8, University Court, Northpointe). Under the direct supervision and guidance of the University Director, GHDs support the mission of Housing & Residence Life and assist in the development of a vibrant living and learning experience for our residents. In addition to on-going training throughout the academic year, Graduate Hall Directors participate in extensive training in July, August, and January. The Graduate Hall Director supervises a staff of 8-12 Resident Assistants, encourages and fosters a sense of community, responds to resident concerns, monitors facilities and maintenance issues within assigned buildings, and participates in departmental initiatives. Graduate Hall Directors encourage student involvement and work closely with their staff in the creation of meaningful educational, social and personal growth programs in the residence halls. Graduate Hall Directors assist with Housing & Residence Life functions including, but not limited to, Room Selection, RA Selection, RA Training, advising RHA/NRHH, Health & Safety Inspections, staff developments, social media, hall closings & openings, and other duties as assigned. Additionally, Graduate Hall Directors participate in the Senior Staff on-call evening duty rotation.
Requirements:
Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
Acceptance into a full-time FDU graduate program for 2024-2025
This is a part-time, live-in position.

Remuneration:
Furnished on-campus apartment (with access to a kitchen)
Cash stipened
Up to nine (9) credits of classes per semester
Employment Period:
The contract period for this position is from July 2024 until May 2025 (subject to change).
The successful candidate must sign a contract, which is binding for the entire academic year.
In some instances, employment as a GHD may be available during the months of June/early July.
