JOB SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the Director of Office of Strategic Initiatives, Data, Assessment, and Technology (SDAT), the selected individual for this position will be principally responsible for supporting the business alignment and operational needs for UAlbany’s Research Enterprise, with a focus on research administration. In providing this support, the individual will work closely with both UAlbany and RF’s applications governance group, campus constituents, and the software vendor to address issues that arise with IT tools.
- Dive deeply into business processes and their related data to extract insights and identify areas for improvement.
- Map out business processes for all functional areas within the Division for Research and Economic Development (DFRED).
- Collaborate with DFRED leadership to streamline these processes.
- Automate the processes using tools such as Jotform, MS PowerAutomate, MS AI Builder, or other IT solutions provided by UAlbany ITS.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled in a University at Albany graduate degree program on a full-time basis.
- Familiarity with business process mapping tools, e.g.,Microsoft Visio or Lucidchart.
- Basic knowledge of IT automation tools such as Jotform, MS PowerAutomate, and MS AI Builder.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with different departments and leadership.
- Ability to analyze business processes and data to extract insights.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current program or prior degree in Business Analytics or a closely related field.
- Prior work experience working closely with IT tools, software vendors, and addressing application-related issues.
- Advanced proficiency in Jotform, MS PowerAutomate, MS AI Builder, and other IT solutions provided by UAlbany ITS.
- Certification or advanced training in IT automation tools or related platforms.
Hours/Compensation:
- 40 hours per week from 12/18/23 to 1/12/2024.
- 20 hours per week during Spring 2024.
- Financial support included ($20.49/hour).
