Salary Range: $50,655 – $57,776
JOB TITLE: Family Service Specialist
Principal Job Duties:
This employee provides assistance and direction to families with children in need of a wide range of special services for disabilities. The incumbent in this class is responsible for identifying and coordinating needed services as shown by case management plans on individual children. Work is performed under the supervision of the Early Intervention Service Manager. Does related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, Human Services, Education or closely related field and two (2) years of experience working with infants and toddlers, one (1) of which must have included experience with infants and toddlers with development delays or disabilities; OR,
- Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate’s Degree in Sociology, Human Services, Education or closely related field and four (4) years of experience working with infants and toddlers, one (1) of which must have included experience with infants and toddlers with development delays or disabilities.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: At time of appointment and throughout employment:
- Possession of a valid New York State driver’s license.
- Successful clearance from the State Central Registry in the New York State Office of Children and Family Services and the State Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs (Background investigation is conducted by the appointing authority).
