Job Description:
Description of Duties:
Assist with coordinating the organizational and administrative support functions within a high performing university-wide research institute.
Essential Functions:
- Assist with administrative tasks including organizing meetings, coordinating activities with researchers.
- Lead, coordinate, and assist with social media outreach and promotional materials for Institute events.
- Assist with new letters, oversee a library of grant-support materials and research literature, and coordinate email and other correspondence with Institute affiliates.
- Provide support for the development of new contracts and grant applications.
- Provide support for the development and preparation of reports for contract sponsors and PDP management.
- Assist with the purchase and travel requisitions and payments.
- Assist with interdepartmental requests to support IT, facilities and other Institute requirements.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current UAlbany fulltime Graduate student.
- Bachelor’s degree from a college or university accredited by a USDOE or internationally recognized accrediting organization with a concentration in finance, business administration, management, communications, public health or a related field.
- Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
- Strong computer skills, particularly with Adobe and Microsoft Office products, including MS Excel and MS Access.
- Familiarity with financial management, reporting, and analysis.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in front-facing operations and support including professionalism in written and oral communication and quick response rates.
- Ability to function without extensive task-by-task supervision.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks often under tight deadlines and manage projects to successful completion.
- Strong problem solving and organizational skills with strict attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to lead or mentor in a team setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree from a college or university accredited by a USDOE or internationally recognized accrediting organization with a concentration in finance, business administration, management, or a related field.
- Three years’ experience in administrative support.
- Experience working in a continuing education or other educational environment.
- Strong knowledge of Research Foundation and SUNY policies and procedures.
Additional Information:
Salary Range: $29,214.12 at 50% full time equivalent (20 hours per week)
