Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Associate to join our Finance team. This entry-level position is ideal for an individual looking to begin or grow a career in accounting and financial operations. The successful candidate will assist with day-to-day accounting functions, including bank reconciliations, membership payment processing, invoice management, inventory tracking, and general administrative support.
The ideal candidate will possess strong Microsoft Excel and computer skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a commitment to accuracy and attention to detail.
Essential Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Support
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Process and record membership payments accurately and timely.
- Support monthly billing activities and ensure timely distribution of invoices.
- Research and resolve payment discrepancies and account variances.
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
Data Management & Reporting
- Enter and verify accounting data within financial software systems.
- Prepare spreadsheets and reports using Microsoft Excel.
- Assist with month-end closing processes and account reconciliations.
- Maintain organized electronic and paper filing systems.
Inventory Management
- Track and monitor inventory levels and transactions.
- Reconcile inventory records and identify discrepancies.
- Assist with inventory counts and audits.
- Maintain accurate inventory documentation and reporting.
Administrative Support
- Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding payments and billing.
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Support continuous improvement efforts for accounting and operational processes.
Qualifications
Required
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, sorting/filtering, and data analysis.
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn accounting software systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
Preferred
- Previous accounting, bookkeeping, cashiering, or office experience.
- Experience with accounting or ERP software.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
