The NYSED SUNY Student Internship Program is a great opportunity for University at Albany Undergraduate & Graduate students to gain valuable experience at a paid internship. Students are paid via University at Albany and supervised by a NYSED Employee. As of Spring 2024, Undergraduates are paid $15/hour while Graduate students are paid $18/hr. If you are interested in earning academic credit for this experience, please contact your academic advisor or The Minerva Center for High Impact Learning.
In order to be eligible, students must be enrolled for at least 6 credits for the semester they plan to attend their institution. Internships are available during the Fall, Summer, Spring, and Winter Terms; all internships are part-time and interns may work no more than 20 hours/week during the semester. During the Summer & Winter Terms, students may work a maximum of 25 hours/week. If you are a graduate student and have less than 6 credits left in your program, please download and complete the Reduced Course Load (RCL) Authorization Form for Internship Placements.

Application Process and Requirements:
- Review the list of Current Assignments and select your top choice(s);
- Complete the Student Internship Application. You will not be considered for an assignment without a completed application which must include a signature by the campus coordinator for your school. Please send applications to Albert Maya, Campus Coordinator either via email or delivered physical copy in Science Library G-50.
- Submit a copy of your signed Student Internship Application, current resume, a copy of your current college transcript (A legible student copy is acceptable) to internships@nysed.gov.
