About the role
BlueWave is seeking an Intern to join our Engineering Team. The ideal candidate is one that possesses strong organizational skills, attention to detail, initiative and the ability to successfully work independently as well as part of a collaborative team, as well as adapt to change technical focus to support internal BlueWave Team priorities.
What you’ll do
- Collaborating with Development Engineers and senior designers to produce preliminary AutoCAD layouts and design package
- Assisting process creation
- Generating drawings that are in line with company drawing standards and templates
- Following quality control procedures for completeness, accuracy, and code compliance
- Being proactive when communicating with the team
- Generating Bill of Materials from CAD drawings
- Supporting Civil and Electrical construction details for PV, BESS system
- Running energy model for early stage projects
Qualifications
- Interpersonal skills along with the ability to work within a fast paced; highly collaborative, team environment while managing tight deadlines
- Detail oriented, organizational skills, strong analytical and quantitative skills (Excel)
- General understanding of solar and storage project electrical components as they relate to Engineering
- A self-starter that can be brought up to speed quickly
- Ability to think creatively to help streamline operations
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, Environmental and Sustainability Science, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning or related field
- Preference for candidates that have at least one previous co-op or work experience in a related discipline (engineering, design, construction, real estate or energy development)
- Experience with GIS, Google Earth, Google Maps and Microsoft Office
- Good presentation skills, ability to deliver organized and comprehensive reports
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience with AutoCard, Civil 3D and HydroCad is an advantage!
