Helping Students Navigate the Career/Internship Fairs

Industry-focused job and internship fairs are fast approaching! Below are some helpful pieces of advice to help students on their journey:

  1. Let students know when the fairs are and encourage them to register on Handshake!
    1. Business Fair- February 21st 10am-3pm in the CC Ballroom/Assembly Hall
    2. Government and Non-Profit Fair- March 6th 10am-3pm in the CC Ballroom/Assembly Hall
    3. Technology and Science- March 13th 10am-3pm in the ETEC Building Lobby
  1. If a student is concerned about dressing professionally for the fair, you can direct them to Purple Threads, which has free professional clothing for students.
  1. Our Peer Career Advisors offer resume critiques (and students should have printed copies of those resumes)   Drop-in hours are: Monday/Wednesday: 11:00 am- 4:00 pm, Tuesday/Thursday 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm, and Friday 12:00 pm- 2:00 pm.
  1. Students who are apprehensive about attending a fair should be encouraged to attend a pre-fair preparation event!
