Career & Professional Goals for 2023

As we head into a new year, it’s a great time to think about what goals you’d like to accomplish in your professional journey. Here are some examples of career goals you can start crushing in 2023:

  • Improve soft skills like communication and leadership – the NACE Career Readiness Competencies can help!
  • Learn a new technology or software – LinkedIn Learning, Udemy, Coursera are just a few sites that offer trainings and certifications (and, many are free!).
  • Build your network – if you have not already created a LinkedIn profile, take time to do this, and start connecting with peers, professors, internship coordinators, campus leaders, etc.
  • Follow companies and career leaders that you are interested in on social media.
  • Get involved! – take a class that interests you outside of your major, volunteer for an organization you care about, join a student organization.
