Career Readiness Competencies

The National Association of College and Employers (NACE) came up with a list of eight Career Readiness Competencies that employers look for when hiring new graduates. As a student, your goal is to build up these career competencies throughout your time at college through your classes, becoming involved on-campus, doing internships, researching, volunteering, and studying abroad. As the NACE website puts it, career readiness is a “foundation from which to demonstrate requisite core competencies that broadly prepare the college educated for success in the workplace and lifelong career management.”
