Job Summary

As an Energy Engineer, you will convert data into actionable insight and utilize that data to deliver results for the client, becoming a trusted advisor. While your role can vary depending on office needs, your work helps our clients continuously optimize their facilities and fulfill their mission more efficiently.

Your focus may be on Intelligent Services (consultative, trusted advisor, continuous improvement) or Comprehensive Solutions (deep analysis, large design projects, energy modeling). Based on your area of focus, your role will entail a combination of the following:

• Perform building “walk-through” and identify energy conservation measures (architectural, mechanical, electrical, etc.) in commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities.

• Qualify client and opportunity, then layout preliminary and detailed audit scope analysis.

• Effectively analyze and assess the economic impacts of utility company rate structures and supply side options in a wide variety of customer environments.

• Collaborate with office team members on energy and financial analysis results for equipment performance, performance contracts, complex turnkey and other contracting offerings.

• Assist with energy simulation models utilizing fundamental HVAC principals, and understanding utility business operations, and consultative, solution selling.

• Provide routine consultations to give insights into the client’s energy use, building operations, technical support/training needs, indoor environmental quality, and asset management.

In the Trane Technologies Energy Engineer Graduate Training Program (GTP), you will learn from experts in the field, who are committed to preparing you for a rewarding career in Energy Engineering. The GTP provides you with intensive technical, business, and leadership training, with an emphasis on maintaining the highest ethical and professional standards. In this program, you will:

• Attend lectures and technical presentations that are practical for this career

• Hear about “real world” projects from Trane Technologies managers.

• Complete meaningful homework assignments; and participate in individual and team projects.

• Gain the skillset and confidence to lead your local sales office as a full-time Energy Engineer

The learning goals of this program include:

• Energy Competency

• HVAC Fundamentals

• Controls Competency

• Energy Engineering Tools (software),

• Energy Conservation Measures (ECM)

• Sales Training and Professional Development

Salary Information:

Base Pay Range: $74,000 – $91,760 / year

Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of function, class year, and geographic location where the work is performed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

• Be a U.S. citizen or have the legal right to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

• Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to:

+ DUI in the previous 5 years

+ Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.

• Possess a Valid State issued Driver’s License with ability to provide proof of insurance
