Under the general direction of the Office of Strategic Initiatives, the selected individual will be principally responsible for supporting the business alignment and operational needs for UAlbany’s Research Foundation Human Resources (RFHR) operations. This role focuses on analyzing, mapping, and automating RFHR processes to improve efficiency and operational effectiveness.
The individual will collaborate closely with RFHR leadership, UAlbany’s applications governance group, and the NEOED vendor to address system-related issues, streamline workflows, and align solutions with organizational goals.
Primary Responsibilities:
Analyze business processes, map workflows, and identify areas for improvement.
Dedicate significant time to configuring and optimizing systems such as NEOED, JotForm, MS PowerAutomate, and MS AI Builder to automate and enhance workflows.
Partner with RFHR leadership to understand operational needs and ensure alignment with institutional goals.
Serve as a liaison between State HR, RFHR, NEOED, UAlbany ITS and stakeholders to address application-related issues and maintain optimal system performance.
Create and maintain detailed process documentation for all automated workflows, with a strong focus on system configuration and settings.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be enrolled in a University at Albany graduate degree program on a full-time basis.
Familiarity with business process mapping tools, e.g., Microsoft Visio or Lucidchart.
Basic knowledge of IT automation tools such as NEOED, JotForm, MS PowerAutomate, and MS AI Builder.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate across departments and with leadership.
Analytical ability to extract insights from business processes and related data to drive improvements.
Preferred Qualifications:
Current program or prior degree in Business Analytics or a closely related field.
Prior work experience working closely with IT tools, software vendors, and addressing application-related issues.
Advanced proficiency in NEOED’s platform and IT automation tools such as JotForm, MS Power Automate and MS AI Builder, etc.
Certification or advanced training in IT automation tools or related platforms.
Hours/Compensation:
Spring 2025: 20 hours per week.
Summer 2025: 40 hours per week.
Compensation: Financial support included ($24,440 @ 50% FTE or $940 biweekly).
