GTM is in search of a talented Accounting Specialist to join our dynamic team. As an Accounting Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth financial operations of the company. You’ll work both independently and collaboratively to execute various accounting tasks, maintaining accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Banking: Handle daily banking activities, including reconciling daily transactions, ACH file processing, client billings, credit card transactions, and monthly client refunds.
- Accounts Receivable: Manage the receipt of payments, record sales receipts, deposit funds, and follow up on overdue payments.
- General Ledger: Oversee timely payments and accurately record client transactions in QuickBooks.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, up-to-date records using accounting software and spreadsheets.
- Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members to enhance processes, share knowledge, and contribute to a positive work environment.
- Backup Support: Be trained as a backup for other Staff Accountants and step in as needed.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
- Ethical Practices: Uphold ethical accounting practices and maintain the confidentiality of financial information.
- Auditor Assistance: Aid in preparing essential information for external accounting firms and auditors.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Proficiency in using QuickBooks for basic accounting functions.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and time-management skills.
- Effective communication with vendors, clients, and other departments.
- Proficiency in MS Office software (Word, Excel).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Capability to work both independently and in a team, adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Outstanding time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business.
- Minimum of 3+ years of Accounting or Bookkeeping experience preferred.
