Essential Functions:
Transports clients to and from scheduled activities and appointments: obeys all traffic codes, ordinances, laws and regulations; assists clients on and off bus; assists clients with mobile devices and/or personal items; reviews route and schedule and makes changes as necessary; and reports to supervisor any changes in clients health/behavior.
Operates equipment: operates shuttle buses with lifts; uses radio equipment to receive assignments; conducts daily vehicle safety inspection; maintains daily logs and safety equipment inventory; keeps vehicles clean and gassed; reports all maintenance and safety concerns to supervisor; and drives vehicle to Fleet Maintenance for regular service.
Makes deliveries as needed: delivers supplies, food, and commodities to clients and senior centers as assigned.
Attends training sessions as required to gain skills and knowledge for job performance including but not limited to Defensive Driving, CPR, First Aid and other job related trainings.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED; supplemented by one year of experience providing transportation; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Preferred Qualifications
- Must have experience with transporting individuals and driving 12 to 14 passenger buses
- Must complete defensive driving
- Must assist older adults on and off of county vans/buses
- Willing to do multiple trips pick- ups and drop-offs throughout the county.
- Willing to complete and administer CPR first Aid,
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid Driver’s License is required.
Physical Abilities:
Tasks require the regular and, at times, sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and that may involve the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50 pounds).
Sensory Requirements
Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate sounds, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
Environmental Factors
Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
