Graduate Assistant – Community and Public Service Program (CPSP)

The Community and Public Service Program (CPSP) at the University at Albany is seeking a Graduate Assistant to support the Assistant Director in advancing the program’s mission of connecting undergraduate students with meaningful community engagement opportunities. This position offers valuable professional experience for a graduate student interested in education, community development, nonprofit management, or higher education administration.
Position Overview:
The Graduate Assistant will work closely with the Assistant Director to assist in the coordination and communication of CPSP initiatives, helping to strengthen partnerships between the University and community organizations. This role involves both administrative and creative tasks that contribute to the program’s visibility, efficiency, and overall impact.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist with updating and maintaining the CPSP website and other digital communications to highlight community partnerships, student projects, and program initiatives
Support data tracking and timesheet reviews for student placements and community service hours
Help develop communication materials such as newsletters, social media posts, and informational handouts for students and partners
Coordinate with the Assistant Director on event planning, outreach efforts, and student engagement activities
Provide general administrative support, including record-keeping and responding to student inquiries
Contribute to program improvement projects and help identify opportunities to enhance community partnerships
Qualifications:
Must be a currently enrolled University at Albany graduate student
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Detail-oriented, organized, and reliable
Friendly and professional demeanor, with the ability to interact effectively with students, staff, and community partners
Experience or interest in education, community engagement, nonprofit management, or web content design preferred
Position Details:
Hours: Up to 20 hours per week
Schedule: Monday through Friday, in-person
