Visiting the career office isn’t only for seniors looking for a job. Our resources are designed to support them throughout their entire college experience.
From choosing a major to finding internships, building a resume, and preparing for interviews, we help students build the skills and confidence they need along the way.
Here are a few ways you can encourage your student:
- Normalize using our services early. Remind them that they can stop by, even if they’re undecided about their major or career goals.
- Ask open-ended questions. Instead of “Have you figured out what you want to do?” Try asking, “What are you looking forward to getting involved in this semester?”
- Celebrate experiences, not just outcomes. Career readiness grows through internships, campus jobs, volunteering, leadership roles, research, and involvement in student organizations.
- Support Exploration. Career development isn’t about having all the answers; it’s about exploring what’s possible and learning along the way.
