Miguel is a Career Ready Great Dane!

Major: Computer Science, Informatics

Please describe the experiences that have made you a Career Ready Great Dane:

I obtained my internship at the STEAM Garden through The Minerva Center’s SUNY Program for Experiential & Entrepreneurial Development (SPEED). The program provided help with improving my resume, conducting interviews and prepared me with how to conduct myself in a professional environment. I’m also involved with the student org, IEEE. Here, I’ve done Hack-a-Damien and workshops that have grown my project portfolio to show future employers my skills. I’m also involved in research, under the supervision of Dr. Dumas in her Human-Centered Intelligence Systems Lab working on VR simulation. Lastly, we competed in RealityHack at MIT. Getting to participate was a dream come true but getting to win, was even cooler.

Advice for other Great Danes: Anticipate change. This world is ever changing; to overcome challenging and changing circumstances, you must change yourself. The world may be chaos, but only you can find the calm inside.
