Please describe the experiences that have made you a Career Ready Great Dane:
As a Masters Candidate, my education has been a professional and personal milestone. It helped refine technical skills and created invaluable opportunities for impactful research. Most recently, my research within the NSA’s iNSuRE program. My experiences have laid a foundation for a purposeful transition into information security research, data science, and the broader field of cybersecurity. The additional Masters degree has introduced concepts such as machine learning for security, digital forensics, computer risk analysis and blue-team incident response strategies. I also serve as a student leader on campus which has refined my soft skills.
Advice for other Great Danes: Approach professional development events as a chance to learn and connect; whether it’s a career fair, guest lecture or student org meeting. Ask questions, express curiosity, and follow up with professionals who inspire you. Lastly, contribute to the broader campus community through peer mentoring or outreach initiatives – this helps strengthen the collective experience of all Great Danes.
